Originally developed to meet a Ministry of Defence requirement for the British Armed Forces.
Developed in 1980 as the General Service Wrist Watch for the British Armed Forces, the CWC G10 was engineered to do one job: provide dependable, accurate, legible timekeeping wherever military service required it.
Some watches tell stories
For more than four decades, the G10 has accompanied generations of British servicemen and women through training, deployment and operational service, earning its place as one of Britain's most enduring military wristwatches.
While materials, manufacturing and technology have evolved, its purpose has not.
The current G10 remains faithful to the original military specification, combining proven design with modern Swiss manufacturing, and contemporary luminous materials.
This is not a tribute.
It is the latest evolution of a genuine military-issued watch.
I was issued my G10 in 1984 and wore it every day for 22 years around the world during peace and combat. A few new batteries but the watch never missed a beat and brought down a few fire missions in its time. I forgot to hand it in when I retired in 2006 🙂.
44 years later the watch is still good as new just a little tired looking (like myself).
So I decided to buy a new fresh looking G10. Ordered last Friday and arrived on Saturday. Outstanding service and a perfect looking watch. Delighted
My 1980s G10 552, whilst still giving amazing service, had long lost its Tritium so I thought an update was overdue, great selection from Cabot and they were very helpful and patient when I wanted to up spec from the one I originally ordered.
Bought to replace my original issued watch which went walkabout. These are great bulletproof (not literally) watches
Very fast delivery, great service.
The only whinge I have which is negligible is that the nato strap seems to be a slightly different green, but fortunately I have an original anyway.
The perfect field watch
