Introducing the 1987 reissue edition dive watch, the first black CWC divers' watch manufactured for the Special Boat Service with day/date.
Arguably one of the rarest and most sought after SF military dive watches in history, with possibly less than a handful of original examples remaining. This is the SBS divers' watch that many customers have been searching for, that honours the history of one of the most elite special forces units in the world. CWC is proud to have been contracted to manufacture this watch over three decades ago, and we still produce the latest SBS derivative issued to Royal Marines and Royal Navy currently.
The RN Divers watches proved themselves to be worthy successors to the issued watches of the 60s and 70s and the SBS Diver was no exception. Designed to meet the toughest demands of deep diving missions, underwater surveillance, mine clearance, battlefield and dive engineering, it is a tool watch in the purest sense of the word that will perform in the most extreme conditions.
In April 1987 the MOD (N) specification was signed by the officer commanding RM in Poole Dorset, requesting CWC to produce the Black SBS Divers watch on behalf of the Royal Marines.

I already had a silver mk2 but wanted a SBS. I love the bezel on this one and it’s such a great new staple quartz daily for the rotation.
As a formal member of the royal navy, I can honestly say that this is a watch made for someone that demand high standards. The watch it self may seem simple, but that is what a good watch should be. Not filled with gadgets that obscure the most important aspect of a watch, to tell time. I highly recommend this watch.
This tool watch has an amazing historical background and I'm glad to have it as part of my watch rotation. It is built like a tank, the lume is great, very rugged and capable. This absolute unit has easily became a one of my favourites. I look forward to the stories I'll have with this watch for years to come.

Very happy with this watch, it was a great 40th Birthday present. Received great service from CWC with quick dispatch. Very happy with the quality of the watch, day/date window is great to have, bright luminous markings on watch face a bezel a great everyday wear. Also highly recommend the Falklands strap as it gives a comfortable exact fit.
