Please note the '83 strap will be a light olive colour as the original is too thick to adjust easily.
Genuine new old stock vintage RM Falkland era straps, these were part of Royal Marines kit issued with their bergen rucksack as a utility strap for many different uses.
Makers' name and patent stamped underside of buckle. Either dated 81, 82 or 83 (select an option).
Being 19/20mm with a quick-adjust very secure buckle, they make the perfect military watch strap. They are micro adjustable and the buckle will not slip. They are so tough and durable they are unlikely to wear out and the larger Aerolex buckles were used on SAS rucksacks and heavy lifting equipment harnesses.
(WATCH NOT INCLUDED)
19-20mm will fit General Service and divers' watches. Quick pull adjustment ensures exact fit and is easy to get on and off. Extra long 350mm length, which will fit over divers' dry suits or combat gear where the standard watch strap is too short to do this.
The buckle stays threaded for ease of use, just slide it on and off. Just pull, giving resistance against the body, to tighten. One loop keeper fitted to retain excess strap.
Made in the UK when British kit was overconstructed.
Please note, if you would like the Broad Arrow stamp on your strap, please select the add-on option above. Default is without stamp. For stamping on multiple straps, please change the stamp quantity in your basket and leave a message indicating which straps you want stamped. For any other special instructions, please leave a message with your order.
Fantastic strap, great quality, soft on the wrist.
Great Service
Well worth the price paid .
To be candid, I accidentally left this review for the Royal Marines Falklands Era Strap instead of the RM Falklands Era Strap. What’s the difference? The RM Falklands Era Strap has a dated buckle (‘81/‘82/‘83) while the Royal Marines Falklands Era Strap does not.
I purchased this strap to try out on my CWC RN Reissue Silver. Although it takes some getting used to, this strap allows the watch to maintain a lower profile due to its single pass design. The slide buckle allows for very precise adjustment, making the strap very comfortable. I have experienced zero slippage with this buckle!
The only year option available for this strap was 1982, but, hey, isn’t 1982 the year that the Falklands War occurred? How apropos is that, and what a great way to honor those 255 souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for those islands and their fellow citizens.
This strap also forced me to get a CWC Black Auto Mk2 so I could match the blackened hardware on this strap with the PVD case! A perfect pairing, although I suppose a G10 would be period correct,
My strap came with no writing on it, was disappointed as all pics show writing. I opted for the arrow but the watch covers it.
Dear Eric,
Thank you for your kind feedback, we can replace the strap for you if you want and we can position the broad arrow in the place of your choice, but the strap will not have any numbers on it as they are no longer available. We have emailed you to follow up on this.
Team CWC
CWC’s NATO straps are great, but I have yet to find a more comfortable strap than the Falklands Strap. It’s infinitely adjustable so there’s never any doubt about fit. And the material is extremely soft and supple and seems a little thinner than the standard NATO nylon. But the best part is the buckle placement on the inside of the wrist. It never occurred to me how this simple change would alter the wearing experience. It prevents the watch from sliding around and leaves you with nothing but strap on the underside and backside of your wrist, which is much more conformable. Get this strap. You will not regret it.
