Following the successful introduction of the original 1980 Royal Navy Diver, the 1981 model refined the design, revising the dial, hands and movement. For the Royal Navy, evolution was never about changing the character of the watch, it was about improving reliability, serviceability and long-term operational performance of a proven military instrument.
The 1981 Automatic Diver preserved the qualities that mattered most while remaining faithful to the Ministry of Defence requirement that established CWC as the Royal Navy's professional dive watch supplier.

This RN81 model is a faithful recreation of that issued watch, remaining true to the original military specification, combining proven design with modern Swiss manufacturing, sapphire crystal and contemporary luminous materials. The robust and durable Sellita SW200-1 top grade movement ensures accurate timekeeping, while the option of a PVD-coated case provides a sleek alternative based on customer interest.
While materials, manufacturing and technology have evolved, its purpose has not.
This is not an homage.
It is a recreation of a watch with a genuine place in British military history.

I received my RN81 about a week ago and I love it. It has a no nonsense aesthetic and exudes pure, rugged military pedigree. I prefer it to my bronze Breitling Super Ocean that I recently purchased.

Great watch
I have just received my rn81 diver watch: wanderfull ! I have had twenty years ago the automatic diver, mineral glass, eta power, but this rn81, is fantastic military vintage look. Fast delivery from Silvermans, number one military shop, that I have visited and I have bought many items, many years ago.
So I've been lusting over a CWC diver for quite sometime,so I was a little apprehensive to finally pull the trigger having never seen one in person. The watch arrived very quickly and any doubts were immediately quashed. The watch wears perfectly on my 7.5' wrist, accuracy is on point and I'm very happy I finally made the purchase.
