Royal Navy Diver, reimagined in black
In 1980, CWC produced a Royal Navy Diver built for a very specific purpose: a dependable mechanical instrument for professional military use.
The Black 80 takes that same established design and changes the character without changing its purpose.
The case is finished in black PVD, giving the watch a darker, more understated presence while retaining the proportions, dial layout and functional character of the 1980 design.
The history remains. The finish has changed.
The original 1980 RN Diver remains one of the rarest military-issued dive watches ever produced. Issued in very small numbers and powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, surviving originals are exceptionally scarce, making them rarer today than the Rolex Military Submariner they replaced.

Black 80 Automatic Diver — Sellita SW200-1
Small run production
A very limited number of the Black 80 are fitted with carefully selected ETA 2824-2 automatic movements, the same as those used in our 1980 Reissue.
Once the ETA 2824 movements are exhausted, production continues with the Sellita SW200-1, selected in top grade in accordance with CWC: robustness, reliability and accuracy.
