Introducing the CWC TAMAR Divers Watch, a timepiece meticulously crafted to capture the identity and forward-deployed presence of HMS TAMAR. Designed in collaboration with, and approved by, the vessel’s first Commanding Officer, this watch embodies the legacy of this storied vessel in every detail.
INSPIRED BY NAVAL HISTORY
The dial features HMS TAMAR’s iconic dazzle camouflage pattern, a distinctive naval design first introduced by the Royal Navy towards the end of the First World War. Adopted by navies around the world and used again during the Second World War, dazzle camouflage has a long association with naval service. Its return to HMS TAMAR’s identity in 2021 provides the inspiration for this unique dial.
DETAILS WITH A DIRECT CONNECTION TO THE SHIP
Every element of the watch has been considered to reflect the vessel. The luminous markers take inspiration from the ship’s mast and stern lights, while the red and green accents reference the traditional port and starboard navigation lights.
The lion motif, taken directly from the ship’s crest, is incorporated into the design as a tribute to HMS TAMAR. The lion is also displayed as a funnel badge and on both shoulders of the vessel, commemorating a gift from the shipyard in recognition of its record-setting generation.
BUILT FOR THE DEMANDS OF DIVING
Housed in a black PVD-coated stainless steel case, the CWC TAMAR is powered by a Swiss Ronda 517 quartz movement. A sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and caseback, and unidirectional 120-click elapsed-time bezel provide the essential features of a professional diving watch. With water resistance to 300 metres, it combines practical capability with a design that is uniquely connected to HMS TAMAR.
