CWC G22 Automatic General Service Watch

I'll start by saying that the watch is as handsome and well finished as I expected it would be. Simply stunning on wrist.
But...
It runs noticeably slowly over 24 hours, on the order of ten seconds as timed by my phone. Also, even after a full day of active wear, it's stopped dead in less than 24 hours when left to sit. Easily the worst power reserve of any of my watches. I don't know if this is par for the course or I just got a dud but it does take some of the shine off what is otherwise a lovely little watch. It's certainly put me off considering any of your pricier offerings.

I had a CWC G10 when I served in the Army and I wanted a military style watch for a while, when I saw this it seemed to tick every box.

A Swiss Selita movement in a good case, superb lume and that ‘military arrow’ on it!

A daily wearer on my regimental strap, after a week on the wrist I love it! Unpretentious, solid quality, good movement, looks more expensive than it is and a ‘nice’ classic size.

Regarding the service from CWC, faultless! Good comms, arrived quickly, well packaged. 10/10….

I have a collection of watches from Omega, Bell & Ross, Brietling, Tudor, Jeager LeCoultre and Rolex; But this as a daily wearer is cool, well made and a bargain!

I really like the look of this watch but I received it with a screw loose on the inside and it wasnt working properly. I had a watch repair shop locate the tiny screw just bouncing around inside the watch. Now after about a year the hour hand is malfunctioning and I have to take it in again. Pretty disappointed.

This is a excellent alternative to the G10 (which I've also owned a few times).
The watch has several improvements over the G10 which I really appreciate. The case is less sharp - there is a softness to the edges. The lume is superb. The date window is beautifully executed and for me, a daily watch with a date is the way to go. I love that smooth sweep of the seconds hand, the matte grey/ black dial, and the overall fit of the watch. It wears almost identical to the G10. Yes, there is a bit of rotor noise when wearing the watch, but in daily use I really don't notice it. I wear mine on an 18mm Haveston strap. Honestly, just get this watch. End of. The best field watches in this price range, or 3 tiers higher even. CWC is the real deal.

Looking for a do it all field style watch? Well here is a shining example of one. Couldn’t be more satisfied with the G22. Great quality at an unbeatable price. Would highly recommend.
