Introducing the 1987 reissue edition dive watch, the first black CWC divers' watch manufactured for the Special Boat Service with day/date.
Arguably one of the rarest and most sought after SF military dive watches in history, with possibly less than a handful of original examples remaining. This is the SBS divers' watch that many customers have been searching for, that honours the history of one of the most elite special forces units in the world. CWC is proud to have been contracted to manufacture this watch over three decades ago, and we still produce the latest SBS derivative issued to Royal Marines and Royal Navy currently.
The RN Divers watches proved themselves to be worthy successors to the issued watches of the 60s and 70s and the SBS Diver was no exception. Designed to meet the toughest demands of deep diving missions, underwater surveillance, mine clearance, battlefield and dive engineering, it is a tool watch in the purest sense of the word that will perform in the most extreme conditions.
In April 1987 the MOD (N) specification was signed by the officer commanding RM in Poole Dorset, requesting CWC to produce the Black SBS Divers watch on behalf of the Royal Marines.

Over the moon to finally be lucky enough to purchase one of these iconic timepieces after a long long wait. A fantastic looking watch that is beautifully built and presented. Being ex-forces, the history of this watch is important but also to own a great looking piece of craftmanship. Thanks CWC!!

I was waiting for this reissue to come out for a couple of years after missing it the last time it was out. When buying the watch, I kept hitting refresh on the hour it was being released.
Fast forward to receiving the watch, and it does not leave the wrist very often. I swapped the NATO strap out for a single-pass Velcro strap from WOE and that was a nice touch. I have only set the time once and the watch is perfectly on time after three weeks. The first weekend with the watch I had to take a diving to get a new certification in zero visibility water, and I could still see the distinct lume under the water.
I also use this watch as my every day and work watch as a firefighter in the States. I’ve been to fires, shootings, stabbings, and vehicle accidents while wearing this watch. Still no problems.
