In 1983, CWC produced the first quartz divers' watch for the Royal Navy. In the previous two years, the CWC 1980 and 1981 Automatic divers' watches were issued, having replaced the Rolex Milsub in 1980.
The quartz version was specified by the M.O.D. to include a polished case, sword minute hand, tritium dial and luminous bezel. This continued right through to the late '80s / early '90s when the hands and bezel changed.
CWC is extremely proud of its heritage and it gives us great pleasure to produce timepieces that have served the British Forces for nearly fifty years and continue to do so.
