Should I have spent £900 on a timepiece with a Quartz movement, absolutely not.
Am I glad that I purchased CWC's quartz retro RN diver, absolutely yes.
I deliberated for weeks over this purchase, reviewing several manufacturers offering's for mechanical movements at less than half the price of CWC's offering for quartz.
And so, balancing this against my thoughts that I would never be in the financial position to scratch the Rolex MilSub / Omega Seamaster 300 itch, I pressed the CWC buy it now button.
From the moment I opened the box I had no regrets, the watch looked stunning, and so as to provide a balanced review against other watches in my collection which include Tudor Heritage Black Bays, Hamilton's and a CWC Mellor amongst others, then I can honestly say that this knocks the socks off them all, it has as they say a vintage charm that simply does not exist in others. To say that I love this watch, quartz and all would be an understatement and if ever asked "what would be the one watch you would keep?" then this would be the one.
Thank you Silverman's for your impeccable service (Five Stars)
So in closing, and for all you quartz doubters out here, it just goes to show that there are acceptable and functional alternatives to the traditional mechanical movement we have all grown to love over time.
As already stated, I truly love this CWC Retro Diver, Quartz and all.
Perfect, legible and tough little watch to have on hand.
The case is well proportioned, 60 click Bezel action is precise, lume on dial and bezel insert is great.
Service from CWC was incredibly quick (four days to Australia) watch was set to the second of my Timezone which was a nice touch.
Great quartz watch. The yellowish indexes and hands sold me. Watch arrived quickly and was even set to my time zone. Would definitely purchase more watches from CWC.
Amazing vintage inspired but at the same time very modern watch. Easy to wear and with very warm dial.
